Red flags in peptide suppliers

Bad suppliers in this market are rarely subtle. They repeat the same handful of behaviours, because the same handful keeps working on buyers who have not seen the list. This page is the list.

The frame

Absence of regulation means presence of pattern

No authority audits research-peptide sellers before they open. Anyone with a template site and a payment route can trade tomorrow, and the difference between a laboratory-backed operation and a reshipping bedroom is invisible in the product photos.

What is not invisible is behaviour. Serious operations leak evidence of process everywhere: batch numbers, registered entities, consistent answers, documents that arrive before payment. Hollow ones leak the opposite, just as consistently.

None of the flags below is a conviction on its own. Three together, and you are looking at a pattern rather than an accident.

The big four

Flags that outrank the others

If you only screen for four things, screen for these.

  1. 01

    Nobody identifiable behind the site

No registered company, no number, no jurisdiction, no legal notice. When something goes wrong, anonymity is the product they actually sold you.

    What we publish about ourselves
  2. 02

    Documentation appears after money

Certificates on request means before ordering, or it means nothing. Sellers who invert the sequence are counting on you not asking twice.

    Checking what they send
  3. 03

Medical promises in the product copy

Dosing schedules, effect guarantees, before-and-after framing. A seller of research material making treatment claims has told you how they handle every other rule too.

    Where the line legally sits
  4. 04

Prices that ignore the cost of doing it right

Synthesis, analysis, cold-chain packing and per-batch paperwork set a real floor. A price far beneath every competitor is usually a list of steps quietly skipped.

    What the cheap version omits
Softer signals

Weak alone, loud together

Some tells are individually forgivable. Stock photography of laboratories, a domain registered last month, reviews that all landed in the same week, a support inbox that answers technical questions with shipping information. Any one has an innocent explanation.

The pattern to watch is evasion under specificity. Ask a precise question — which laboratory, which lot, what happens if customs seizes the parcel — and watch whether the answer gains or loses detail. Real operations get more specific under pressure; hollow ones get friendlier and vaguer.

And check the seller against their own claims. A site advertising per-batch testing should be able to show two different certificates for two different batches of one product. It is a test almost nobody thinks to run, and it is devastating to the one-document operations.

Walk away when
  • Payment is crypto-only with no alternativeSometimes framed as discretion. It is also the payment route with no recourse whatsoever.
  • The terms page is missing or borrowedCopied terms naming another company are more common than you would credit, and exactly as telling.
  • Every product is permanently in stockReal synthesis pipelines have gaps. A catalogue with no gaps is often a catalogue with no pipeline.
  • Questions about testing change the subjectThe reliable final tell. Sellers with data answer with data.
Questions

About supplier screening

Follow-up questions from readers of this list.

Is a polished website evidence of anything?
Only of a design budget. Templates are rented by the month; registered entities and batch data are not. Screen the substance and ignore the finish, in both directions.
Do good suppliers ever trip one of these flags?
Occasionally — a young domain, a stock photo. That is why the standard is a pattern, not a single strike. One flag is a question to ask; three are an answer already given.
What about reviews and forum reputation?
Useful as a starting rumour, never as verification. Reviews are purchasable and forum consensus measures posting behaviour. Documents and registrations are harder to rent.
How does this site score against the list?
Registered company in the legal notice, certificates before payment, no medical claims, prices that include the testing. We wrote the list we were prepared to be measured by.
